R. Buse Çetin

R. Buse Çetin is an AI researcher, consultant and creative. Her work revolves around ethics, impact, and governance of AI systems and it is grounded in intersectional feminism. Buse is the co-founder of the AI research, advocacy and art platform Dreaming Beyond AI. Buse's work aims to demystify the intersectional impact of AI technologies through research, policy advocacy and art for the general public and various organisations. Buse is the policy and advocacy lead for Icarus Salon and an advisor to the Better Images of AI project.

Buse was in 100 Briliant Women in AI Ethics 2020 list and #35under35 European Leaders by Barcelona Centre for International Affairs. Buse speaks Turkish, French, English and Arabic; and holds a master’s degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA).

Nadia Piet

Nadia Piet is a designer & researcher with a focus on AI/ML, data, tech, (digital) culture and creativity. She’s the founder of AIxDesign, a global community and organization for practitioners at the intersection. Besides that, she is currently working as Head of Creative Technology at DEPT, holds an MA in Data-Driven Design, and continues to work on freelance and self-initiated projects to challenge how we design, relate to, and interact with technology. Over the past 10 years, she’s worked freelance across a wide range of roles and industries with organizations such as Hyper Island, Pi Campus, Forbes, UN, AWWWARDS, Bit, DECODED, MOBGEN | Accenture Interactive, ICO, and more.

Andres Colmenares (host)

Andres Colmenares is a strategist, curatorial designer and creative foresight consultant and as co-founder of IAM, he has led and developed partnerships with organizations such as NESTA, Tate, Red Bull, Centre for Investigative Journalism, WeTransfer, BBC, SPACE10 (IKEA’s research and design lab) and the University of Arts London. He is also co-director of The Billion Seconds Institute, a lifelong learning initiative to reimagine the digital economy kickstarted in 2021.

Andres is passionate about designing and facilitating collaborative learning programs and knowledge-exchange experiences. He has created a new Master in Design for Responsible Artificial Intelligence systems for ELISAVA School of Design & Engineering of Barcelona and is faculty of the Master in Design for Emerging Futures at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia.

In 2022 he joined Ars Electronica as a jury member for the STARTS Prize, an award created by the European Commission to honor Innovation in Technology, Industry and Society stimulated by the Arts. He has also been invited a guest lecturer, keynote speaker, workshop host, panelist and moderator at several universities, public and private events including SPACE10’s Pop-ups (Mexico City, 2022 - Delhi, 2020), Forward Festival (Vienna, 2021), PRIMER EU Conference (Madrid, 2019), Swedish Work Lab (Stockholm, 2019) and Digitally Engaged Learning Conference at York University (Toronto, 2018).
